39 year old female from Plano came into the dentist office with a cavity in her tooth. The tooth was not in pain, however she was educated about tooth decay and decided to have the cavity treated with a tooth colored composite cavity filling. The tooth was numbed. The tooth decay was removed leaving a cavity in the tooth. You can see the caries (tooth decay) in the picture, it is the slightly darker area surrounded by the yellow dentin. In the next picture the dark area is gone leaving only healthy dentin. Then the tooth colored composite filling is placed. The patient reported no pain during the procedure or after the numbness wore off. As always, it was recommended not to eat anything that you have to chew until the numbness wore off. The patient was happy with her visit and her new filling.
